Michael Scherer is a native of Decatur, Illinois. As an artist, Scherer is making a name for himself as a smooth jazz piano player and has released five studio albums including the Smooth Jazz Top 50 hit Exceeding Expectations.

Graduating from Millikin University with a degree in Commercial Music in 2006, he has become an active member in the music industry and has produced and arranged music for several projects including The Christmas to Remember (EMI) and Adrian B. King: You’re Awesome! (Sony BMG). Scherer's area of musical expertise is in the styles of smooth jazz, traditional jazz, pop, gospel and R&B.

He is the CEO of DreamVizion Productions. DreamVizion is a sonic branding company that provides businesses with a custom sound through commercials, on hold music and sound design. With the help of business partner Zach Garrett and accompanied by a team of audio experts, DreamVizion's recording studio is sought out for its services of songwriting, composition, arranging, recording, mixing and mastering.

Scherer has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean, performing at prestigious jazz festivals such as The North Sea Jazz Festival in The Netherlands, and The Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
